09/05/81: FA Cup Final at Wembley Stadium

On Saturday 9 May 1981 the final of the 1981/81 season FA Cup was played between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City.

The match ended in a 1 - 1 draw after extra time was played. Manchester City scored first with a spectacular header by Tommy Hutchinson (30') although Spurs drew in the 79th minute with an own goal from Hutchinson after a free kick by Hoddle.

 

A replay was scheduled for Thursday 14 May, again at Wembley Stadium.
